Luis Fernando Salazar López has been a civil litigator in Bogotá, DC, Colombia, involved in private practice since 1972. His broad litigation experience includes both jury and non-jury trials, legal recourses, hearings and many other legal proceedings before Colombian Courts, in civil, labor and commercial law on such diverse subjects as international commercial contracts, banking, a wide range of insurance and reinsurance cases, aviation casualties, trust accountings, contested wills, civil forfeiture, insider trading, and private anti-trust. He has wide and well known experience in litigation and cassation remedies as well as in alternative methods of dispute resolutions such as arbitration, mediation, conciliation and legal expertise, covering both national and international aspects. He has also conducted major arbitrations, including international private arbitration and he has presided over much commercial arbitration as an arbitrator. He is an active member of the selected arbitrators appointed by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce. During the last 30 years he has been providing and rendering counseling and legal services to both national and foreign corporations in the fields of Civil and Commercial Law with special emphasis on oil, mining, petrochemical, environmental, insurance, land and maritime transport, distribution of goods and services as well as many other legal matters. He is a graduate of the "Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario" Law School in Bogotá , DC , in 1972 As well as Spanish he speaks fluent English.
